About Us

Tel-Dan was founded in 1985 by two young travelers to Thailand, Ami Zarchi and Josh Cravitt, who were taken in by the beauty of the country and its fabrics. They created unique hand-painted Thai silk home furnishings. Their patterns drew on both Thai traditions and modern art.

Within a few years their efforts drew the attention of global luxury retailers such as Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, John Lewis, House of Fraser, Mitsukoshi, Takashimaya and others.

The original founders were joined by Ms. Kwanta Katekratuek whose management skills enabled the original craftsman workshop to expand into a factory employing hundreds of workers and directed by a team of designers and merchandisers.

Tel-Dan started supplying such giants as IKEA, Pier 1 Imports and Pottery Barn.

Today Tel-Dan supplies most of Thailand’s leading department stores and mass retailers including Homepro, Tesco, Robinson’s, Big C, etc.

Despite its growth the company remains true to its design and craft roots and maintains the same attention to detail and insistence on quality that fueled its growth over the years.

Some of the very first employees who started with us in our original workshop are still with the company today. They are the stewards for our experience and passion for design, and they are the ones who carry, with pride, the “Spirit of Tel-Dan” to our younger generation.
